Defying Empire - 3rd NIAT Triennial

Congratulations to our two of our artists who are included in the 3rd National Indigenous Art Triennial, Defying Empire – exhibiting at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra until 10 September 2017.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we pass on the message from Tjala Artists, Amata, of the passing of the great artist and man, Mr. Kunmanara Tjupuru Burton.

It has been a privilege for us to have known and handled the work of such an eminent artist and teacher.

Mr. Burton was not only one of the most important artists from the APY Lands, but also a mentor to the younger generations, teaching and passing on important tjurkurpa.

What an incredible legacy to have left.
