Kitty Kantilla is considered one of the most significant indigenous artists from the Tiwi islands. While alive, Kitty Kantilla featured in the prestigious Clemenger Art Award, and since her passing her artistic achievements have been celebrated with retrospective exhibitions at the National Gallery of Victoria and the Art Gallery of NSW. Gabriella Roy has played a major role representing her work since 1988, with the gallery also exhibiting regular solo shows since 1994, in association with Jilamara Arts & Crafts, Melville Island, NT.
