Congratulations to Tjala arsitst, Hector Burton, the 2014 recipient of the Australia Council for the Arts Red Ochre Award. Established in 1993, the Red Ochre Award pays tribute to an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander artist who throughout their lifetime has made outstanding contributions to the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts, both nationally and internationally. Hector Burton is an esteemed mentor of young artists at South Australia's Tjala Arts Centre. 

We are fortunate to have two major works by Hector Burton in our current exhibition: 'Paintings from the heart of Amata Country, 10-28 June.
